Hey, I’m Mia, an Art Director and photographer based in Cologne.
My work starts with a simple question: what could this become? A former bank turned into a showroom. An astronaut landing on a new planet. A mirror that breaks and lets someone new appear. A yoga school in Goa, once a place without a soul, finding a new identity through inner child practices and childhood sketches. I’m drawn to the moment when something stops being what it was and becomes something else, and to the space design can give that change.
For over six years, I’ve led brand, web and campaign projects for high-end design brands, artists and designers around the world. The work ranges from campaigns and photography to websites, trade-fair spaces and full brand identities, always built around a clear story.
In the past few years, I travelled far to explore my path, and to ask who I am and who I am becoming. Across different cultures, rituals and histories, I found ideas I could never have found at a desk: how a colour carries a feeling, how a ritual gives shape to time, how an old story can still tell us something new. Iran, Italy, Germany, India and Nepal each left something in my eye and in my hands, and I bring it back to every project.
For me, design is not decoration. It is a way of paying attention, of making space for something to be felt before it is understood. I like work that is calm, honest and carefully made, with room to breathe.
Alongside design, I founded Designed Yoga, which brings together yoga, sound and art.
